A Journey to Inner knowing through Meditation
Our lives can be very stressful and often we forget to take care of ourselves and just relax and let go of all the turbulent times in which we are living Let me introduce you to meditation, an excellent tool for stress release and if practiced on a regular basis, can ultimately change your life for the better.
Initially, we learn to deeply relax and to quiet our busy minds. This type of meditation is not yoga based but you do learn how to relax your body. We begin by focusing on our breathing and slowing it down, learning to breath deeply and evenly. Of course in the beginning, our thoughts will wander, so we gently return our focus back to our breath again. Gradually, we begin the process of visualization, by following the scripted meditations, we begin to bring about the inner peace that we really want.
We go within to find peace and over time, we find ourselves expressing more understanding, patience and compassion. Along with a wonderful sense of peace and joy. A peace that comes from the true healing of ourselves. To become mindful of how we react in the world and the responses we receive from others.
'Steps towards Meditation,' the beginners series, was originally created by Robert Fisher, in England in the UK and shared in small groups back in the 1980's. I was fortunate enough to be in one of those original groups.
Meditation changed my life completely, within months I was sharing Robert's work which I continue to do today in groups or individual sessions. Later, I collaborated with Robert to create further series, all of which are included beyond Series One.
The material in the meditation series have been left to me to share what he started. I will be eternally grateful to Robert, for his common sense spiritual teaching. It is as relevant today, as it was back then.
Personally I have studied many other teacher's work and met with some of the best, but always came back to the same conclusion, the philosophy is the same.
It is about the relationship you have with yourself and God, The Creator, The Universe, All that Is. Whatever you chose to call the Universal energy surrounding us on this planet?
